Beginning (What does Winter look like?: Scenery)

  1. Have the students walk around in the space. Allow them to explore the space in a variety of ways (tip-toeing, skipping, stomping, etc)

  2. The teacher will call out "Winter”, a number, and a scene. Students will get in groups of the number the teacher calls out, and the build the scene together. (e.g. “Winter 3 - forest of pine trees”)

  3. After a few seconds in scene, the instructor will call out a new scene to play

Middle (What does Winter sound like?: Winter Activities)

  1. Repeat steps 1 to 2

  2. While they are doing their scene, ask them what their activity sounds like (e.g. “What does sledding down a hill sounds like?”) When you yell “Freeze” students freeze mid-action until you give them the next scene. Students continue their scene, while incorporating their sound

  3. After a few seconds in scene, the instructor will call out a new scene to play with sound

End

  1. End the activity by calling out “Winter + number of students + Winter!

  2. Begin playing Winter themed-music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcZauo5gpn4

  3. Allow them to play in the scene for about 30 seconds
